A sincere apology has three parts: name what you did, acknowledge how it affected the other person, and say what you will do differently. Leave out the word "but" - it erases everything before it. These messages give you a starting frame; the specifics of what happened and what you are changing have to come from you.

Name an action you can actually take. An apology does not entitle you to a reply or renewed contact.
